Toyota Land Cruiser 300 in protection Level VR7 as per BRV EDITION 3
certified in Germany by the “German Beschussamt"
1. BALLISTIC CERTIFICATION AND TESTING
In addition to the CERTIFICATION to VR7 ballistic levels, the VR7 Land Cruiser 300 is designed to better survive the blast and fragment threats that are common in operations today. The blast tests detailed below were carried out on our test vehicle after the ballistic test where performed. There were no repairs made to the vehicle between any of the tests.
The ERV Edition 3 blast test are conducted with use of biofidelic dummies, which reflecthuman body with bones, ligaments, skin, muscles and soft tissues. The maximum pass rating is 3 stars which means that there was absolutely no damage to the biofidelic dummies present in the vehicle during the various blast tests. A rating below 3 stars means that the vehicleoccupant would suffer various injuries including bone fractures and torn ligamen

2 ARMOURING CONFIGURATION
Due to the additional weight added to the chassis, we do extensive strengthening to the vehicle body.
2.1 SUSPENSION& BREAKS
SPRINGS – heavy duty design to cope with additional weight and provide desirable vehicle dynamics.
SHOCK ABSORBERS – heavy duty with high performance valve system and upgraded bushes.
SWAY BAR – reinforced for optimum handling during quick manoeuvring.
The entire suspension and break system is reinforced to ensure reliability and road safety. Shock absorbers and springs have been replaced by heavy-duty components and can handle a gross vehicle weight up to 6.100 Kg.
2.2 WHEEL AND TIRE CONFIGURATION WITH RUN-FLAT SYSTEM
RUN-FLATS – in all tyres including optional spare wheel, meeting NATO requirements of 50km capability at an average speed of 50km/h.
TYRES – high load index high performance.
RIMS – heavy duty steel rims.
Each of the 4 tires is provided with a run flat system which allows you a distance of 50 km by an average speed of 50 km/h after a puncture.
This run flat system issued on 18” heavy duty rims.
2.3 DOORS AND DOOR HINGES
UNIFORM ARMOUR PLATE – reinforced and integrated into doors for maximum ballistic integrity and structural blast resistance.
FULL OVERLAP ARMOUR – around all door apertures with splash guards to prevent penetrations into the cabin from direct and angled strikes or ricochet. Design enhances blast protection.
HEAVY DUTY HINGES – attached directly to ballistic steel not the vehicle body. Design allows full serviceability and adjustments of the doorsystem.
PILLAR REINFORCEMENT – allowing the weight of doors to be transmitted onto the reinforced ballistic steel posts to preserve alignment and ensure function after blast damage.
All doorhinges are replaced by self developedheavy duty doorhinges, able to cover the additional weight of the armoured doors. Special pillar reinforcement (inside the A-, B-C-pillars) supports the door hinges for all 5 doors.
